The
Automobile & Touring Club of the United Arab Emirates
(ATCUAE) has been
an affiliated member of the Federation Internationale de
L'Automobile (FIA),
the world governing body of all motor sports, since
1965.
ATCUAE
is the officially nominated representative of the
Federation Internationale De Motorcyclisme (FIM).
Since
1973 it has been an affiliated member of Alliance
Internationale de Tourisme (AIT):
the leading and most successful international body
concerned with motoring, touring, road assistance
services and outdoor leisure.
The
driving force behind the ATCUAE
is the 14 times FIA
Middle East Rally champion - Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
Recently H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al
Maktoum has approved the
appointment of borad of directors for ATCUAE.

The ATCUAE
is the only organisation
which is authorised by the FIA to issue :
International Driving Licenses
Carne de passage en Douane (trip
tickets)
International Touring Certificate
It is
also issuing the road maps to the following countries:
IRAN
JORDAN
LEBANON
SAUDI ARABIA
SYRIA |
ATCUAE
is the sole representative of the FIA and FIM in the UAE
and is empowered to supervise all motor sports events in
the country.
ATCUAE
is acting under the patronage of
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al
Maktoum
Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, the ruler
of Dubai.
The ATCUAE
currently organises:
UAE
Desert Challenge - the leading event for the FIA Cross
Country Rally World Cup and the FIM Cross country
Rallies World Championship (November).
The
first round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship -
UAE International Rally (January).
ATCUAE
has th exclusive authority to issue
Competition Licenses
(auto, moto & kart) in the U.A.E |
