 1. I would like to travel by my car outside UAE, what should I do?

If you are traveling to the Middle East/Asia/Africa or Australia, you need to issue the carnet de passage (trip ticket).

2. I would like to travel by my car to Europe, what should I do?

In order to travel by your car to Europe, you need to issue an international certificate.

3. How do I obtain a international driving licence?

In order to obtain a international driving licence you need to have a valid UAE driving licence.

 4. I am on a visit to the UAE, how can I drive in UAE or can I get a international driving licence in UAE if I have the national licence of my country?

In order to drive in UAE you need to have an international driving licence issued outside UAE. Please note that tourists are allowed to drive only in a rented vehicles(Rent a Car).

5. What kind of guarantees do I need to provide if I need to take my car outside the UAE?

If you need to take your car outside the UAE using the customs documents (carnet de passage en douane ) then you need to give a cash guarantee or a bank guarantee depending on the model, manufacture year of the car and also the country you wish to visit .

 6. What happens at the entry point of each country that I am visiting when I have a Carnet de Passage en douane ?

On entry to a country, at the customs check point, the officials will stamp a entry on the souche of the carnet de passage en douane and an exit stamp will be stamped when you exit the country.

 7. What happens if I don't bring back my car from the country I am visiting?

If you fail to bring your car from the country you are visiting then the guarantees will not be refunded to you unless you provide us with a attested document showing that the customs duties have been paid where the car currently is remained .

 8. How can I participate in local or international rallies or Karting races?

In order to participate in local or international rallies or karting races, you need to obtain competition licence from our club . To obtain a competition licence you need to have a valid UAE driving licence and a medical fitness certificate as per CIK/FIA regulation.
Foreign drivers should get their country's ASN approval in order to get his/her competition licence from our club.

 9. What is the FIA Middle East Rally Championship?

The FIA Middle East Rally Championship is a rally event registered in the FIA international sporting calendar. Many rounds of rallies are held in different countries throughout the year and the driver who scores highest number of points in these rounds is declared as the FIA Middle East Champion for that year.
The UAE hosts two rounds of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship, The UAE International Rally held in Abu Dhabi being the first round and the Dubai International Rally held in Dubai being the final round of the rally.

 10. What is the Dubai Desert Challenge?

The Dubai Desert Challenge is one of the rounds of the FIA World Cup Cross Country Rallies Championship which is registered in the FIA international sporting calendar. The rally is held in Dubai every year.

 11. How can I register myself to participate in the UAE International Rally, Dubai International Rally or the Dubai Desert Challenge?

In order to participate in any of these rallies you need to fill up the entry form, get it stamped by your ASN(National Sporting Authority) and then submit it to our club before the entry closing date.

 12.What kind of vehicle can I use to race in the FIA Middle East Rally Championship?

The following are the details of cars that can participate in the rally -
Cars are split into different cubic capacity classes,
Touring Cars Group A :
Class A5 - up to and including 1400 cc
Class A6 - over 1400 cc up to and including 1600 cc
Class A7 - over 1600 cc up to and including 2000 cc
Class A8 - over 2000 cc

Production Cars Group N :
Class N1 - up to and including 1400 cc
Class N2 - over 1400 cc up to and including 1600 cc
Class N3 - over 1600 cc up to and including 2000 cc
Class N4 - over 2000 cc

 13.What categories of prizes are given in the FIA Middle East Rally Championship?

The Categories of prizes will be subject to the regulations of each rally which will be available on site .

 14.What is a Homologation paper and how do I get it?

In order to participate in any rally, your vehicle need to be homologated. The homologation paper is a document which certifies that the vehicle used in the rally is custom built according to the FIA specifications for that group or class of vehicle. To get your vehicles homologated you need to contact your ASN.

 15.I would like to volunteer as a marshal in the upcoming rallies, what should I do?

In order to volunteer as a marshal, you need to contact our club and fill a application form.
